Mr Joshua Okello

Research Strategy and Operations

A research project design, planning, management and reporting expert with over 18 years in quantitative and qualitative methodologies across 13 East, Central and Southern Africa Countries. Experienced in Research, Monitoring and Evaluation (R, M&E) spanning across multi-donor and multi-country projects. Managed projects across several sectors including Agriculture, Gender, Financial Inclusion, Education, Resilience, Health, Nutrition, WASH, Food Security, Livelihood, Energy, Advocacy among others. He Leads QDATAMS’ strategic guidance to R, M&E. dynamic team. He has well-developed skills in research project planning and management with a particular focus on methodology, data quality and actionable reports.

Previously the Research Data Input and Validation Lead East Africa at The Nielsen East Africa. Before then was the Research Field Manager at Kantar TNS East Africa and worked with the African Population and Health Research Center in various research supervisory roles.

A holder of Master in Geographical Information System from JKUAT and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Geography from the University of Nairobi.

Mr Hannington Mambo

ICT Solutions Lead

Mr Hannington Mambo is leading the transformation of Research, M&E into has exceptional skills in the development and implementation of web, mobile applications and enterprise systems. Mr Mambo is multiple award-winning specialists in ICT. He has over 10 years’ experience in programming in languages such as VB.net, C#, HTML/CSS and Javascript. He has a mastery of Database Management Systems including Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Microsoft Access and Firebase. He has consulted for several NGOs in baseline surveys, end of project reviews and developed M&E systems for data analysis and review. He has implemented projects funded by DFID, USAID, UN, African Union and other International NGOs in several countries, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Somalia, Senegal, Sierra Leone, DRC, Britain and Ireland.

Ms Akaco Ekirapa

Public Health Advisor

A dynamic self-motivated female MSc level public health/RMNCAH specialist with over 15 years working experience, organizational strategy, monitoring and evaluation and community development skills in Sub-Saharan Africa.  Able to conduct a formative evaluation, outcome evaluation and impact evaluation studies using Excel, SPSS, STATA and NVivo software.  Managed research and health projects in urban and rural settings in Benin, Burundi, DRC, Ghana, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, S. Africa, and Malawi.

She has worked with global development partners, foundations and research institutions including DFID, USAID, DANIDA, World Bank, WHO, BMGF, UNFPA, UNICEF, CDC, Rockefeller Foundation, Doris Duke Foundation, AFIDEP and APHRC to implement health programmes in the HIV, TB, MNH, and Malaria sector.  Following devolution of health in Kenya, she led the development of a Data Demand and Use strategy to provide a framework for improved data use to guide in overall policy development, program design, management; allocation of resources and service provision for the health sector.

Over the past ten years, Akaco has supported the Reproductive and Maternal Health Services Unit in Kenya to cost the UHC package, develop the national ASRH policy, RMNCAH scorecard, postnatal care guidelines, the National Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan and evaluate the M&E capacity of staff in the Unit.

She is a member of several technical working groups in Kenya and provides technical support to NACC, NASCOP, Division of Maternal and Reproductive Health, Department of Family Health, Department of Civil Registration, Health sector M&E unit, and National Cancer Institute of Kenya among others.

Mr Geofrey Oduwo

Head of Data and Analytics

Has over 9 years’ experience working with Business Analysis/Informatics and Scientific Research within different fast-paced and complex settings. Possess excellent Scientific and technical capabilities and ability to support several planned and ongoing data analytics projects. Geoffrey technologically adept with research, statistics, and data analysis as well as a demonstrated ability and passion for designing and implementing successful data analysis solutions within a business.  Having worked across various markets across sub-Sahara African markets, he is strategically placed to spearhead and drive various business data objectives across the region and beyond.

He previously worked as Data Science Client Solutions Manager, The Nielsen, West Africa He also worked with Nielsen East Africa as Measurement Science Business Lead (Senior Analyst), before that, he worked with KEMRI/CDC Research and Public Health Collaboration TB Research Branch, Kisumu Kenya as Data Analyst/Statistician.

Holds a Masters of Science in Social Statistics from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Science degree, Statistics Major, IT Minor from Maseno University.

Ms Maryanne Wamahiu

Nutrition and Food Security Officer

Maryanne Wambui Wamahiu is a Food and Nutrition Security consultant based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Maryanne Wambui Wamahiu is a Food and Nutrition Security Specialist with 6 years’ experience. She has mostly worked for Non-Governmental Organizations, international and national, implementing food and nutrition security projects in Kenya, Malawi and South Sudan. Additionally, she has worked as a food safety consultant for different food manufacturing companies, assisting them in implementing quality control programs.
